41 Complaints Received During Janta Darshan in Tehri, Most Resolved on the Spot
Tehri: A Janta Darshan programme was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Tehri Garhwal on Monday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal.
People from different parts of the district brought forward 41 complaints and demands related to rehabilitation, compensation, disaster-damaged houses and bridges, roads, drinking water, solar facilities, communication services and other issues.
The District Magistrate heard the grievances seriously and directed officials to resolve most of the cases on the spot. The remaining matters were forwarded to the concerned departments with instructions for prompt and time-bound action.
Representatives from Gangi raised issues concerning the lack of mobile network connectivity in the remote village of Kangi. They demanded permission for offline attendance for VBG-RAMJI works, installation of a mobile tower and construction of motor roads to the remote hamlets of Dekhuri and Kalyani. The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to examine the matters and take necessary action.
Office-bearers of the Bauraadi Trade Board sought payment of the remaining amount for renovation work at the Covered Market and Furniture Market, along with restoration of toilet facilities at the Covered Market. The municipality was directed to ensure proper functioning of the toilet and a two-shift cleaning system.
Other grievances included pending financial assistance for a student, alleged illegal construction on private land, a demand for a salary increase by temporary water-supply workers, availability of LPG cylinders, repair of a damaged drain, reconstruction of a disaster-damaged culvert and land demarcation.
The District Magistrate said that Janta Darshan provides citizens with an opportunity to directly bring their problems before the administration. She said that every complaint is being taken seriously and addressed on a priority basis. Officials have also been instructed to regularly review pending complaints and ensure their timely disposal so that people do not have to make unnecessary visits to government offices.
Senior district officials, including Chief Development Officer Varuna Agrawal and representatives of various departments, were present during the programme.
